Tunary ("Tunary", "we", "us") operates the website at tunary.io. This policy explains what we do — and mostly don't do — with your data. In short: Tunary runs in your browser, and we don't collect personal information about you.
The tuner can use your device's microphone to detect the pitch of your instrument. This processing happens entirely on your device, inside your browser. Your audio is never recorded, stored, transmitted, or uploaded to us or anyone else. Your browser asks for permission before the microphone is used, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in your browser settings.
Tunary saves your preferences — such as your selected instrument, tuning, reference pitch, and volume levels — using your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Tunary does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we use analytics, we use a privacy-friendly, cookieless service (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that does not identify individual visitors. Note that affiliate links you click (see below) may lead to third-party sites that set their own cookies.
Tunary contains affiliate links to products and services (for example, guitar gear via Amazon, and online lesson platforms). If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you click such a link you leave Tunary and are subject to the privacy policy of that third-party site, which controls any data it collects. As an Amazon Associate, Tunary earns from qualifying purchases.
Tunary is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare may automatically process limited technical information (such as IP address and request data) to deliver the site securely and reliably. This is handled by Cloudflare under its own terms and privacy policy.
Tunary is a general-audience music tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because Tunary does not collect personal information about you, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as Singapore's PDPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or the California CCPA. If you have any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@tunary.io.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed. Continued use of Tunary after changes means you accept the updated policy.
